Alleluia! Alleluia! Christ is risen. The Lord is risen indeed! We have come from the depths of hopelessness to the zenith of hopefulness at Christ's overcoming death to set us free at Easter. We at St. Philip's welcome all in this spirit of the resurrection and love.

During Easter we will be examine the foundations of our faith as we walk during the great 50 days toward Pentecost. The Gospel lessons call us to examine the locked doors behind which we hide when we see the disciples awaiting Jesus. Moreover we see both a dubious Thomas and a faith filled Thomas before and after seeing Christ. We walk with Cleopas and the unnamed disciple as they trudge back home toward Ephesus. Things just did not work out. Where do you go when things don't work out for you? Jesus comes to us even as we retreat if we seek him. He comes to us when we feel like losers. This is the hope for the dejected and downtrodden. Join us as we walk this faith filled path of Easter.

Christ prepares us for His departure telling the disciples that there are many rooms and that He is going to prepare a place for us. Finally, he promises to send the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, to empower the disciples. Jesus' promise is still valid for us today. Even now Jesus asks His Holy Father to protect us who are in the world.
